Private pay in-home care is an option for individuals who either do not qualify for Medicaid or state-funded programs or want additional services beyond what public programs provide. Families pay out-of-pocket for customized care tailored to their loved one’s needs. Services may include personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming), homemaking (light cleaning, laundry, cooking), companionship, transportation, and medication reminders. Private pay services offer the most flexibility, as care plans can be tailored without the restrictions of state program guidelines.
