The LIFE Program

The Legislative Initiative For the Elderly (LIFE) Program

The Raleigh County Commission on Aging offers a wide range of services to assist our older or disabled population the benefit of staying independent in their homes for as long as possible.  We have found in our senior population sometimes all that is needed is a little help with housework.  The Raleigh County Commission on Aging sets aside funding to provide this help for our aging population.

The LIFE Program provides 3-4 hours of light housecleaning services each week for individuals 60 years of age or older who live in Raleigh County.  Eligibility is determined by need.  The objective is to provide help to those in need of assistance in performing common life tasks.

Participants are expected to provide a cost share of the hourly cost for the service.  This is calculated using a sliding fee based on the participants monthly income minus their medical expenses.  The minimum cost share will be $1.50 per hour of service received.
