The Raleigh County Commission on Aging offers in home respite as a short-term relief for family members who are providing full time care for a frail, older family member who may or may not have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Respite services are a necessity for family members who are caring for an at risk, frail loved one. The isolation from their own life and the full- time care of their loved one leaves family caregivers in a hopeless dilemma. Our in home respite service allows the caregiver some much needed time to take care of themselves knowing their loved one is in the capable hands of a highly-trained respite worker.
The In Home Respite Program is available to individuals who are providing full-time care for a family member aged 60 or older in their home. You must live in Raleigh County to receive this care.
For further information about our respite program please contact the Raleigh County Commission on Aging at 304-255-1397 ext 114 and speak with Jessica Dorsey. There is help available.
